BFI Recyclery
How to romance a waste recycling center?
How else? You gotta talk trash.
For Browning-Ferris Industries (BFI), this was a big deal. They opened a new $1.8 million, 52,000 square foot "recyclery" and wanted broad coverage in the media. We planned and implemented a grand opening press event, producing everything from invitations to press kits to creative, attention-getting photographs -- all geared to making an interesting, exciting event from what could have been construed as a pretty mundane facility.
Our event garnered lighthearted, yet informative coverage on the local NBC-TV affiliate, as well as prominent exposure for our "buried up to the neck" photo with caption in the major daily newspaper. We also arranged for private interviews with William Ruckleshaus, BFI Chairman and former Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
