Special Events Coordinator

Melinda has worked for Target for 13 years and for the past eight years has focused on planning and executing a wide variety of special events. She has organized seminars, annual meetings, ride and drives, small parties, large banquets, wedding ceremonies, receptions, tours, and open houses. She is experienced in site selection, registration, transportation, accommodations, meals and entertainment, and rental equipment. She has obtained permits and  coordinated sponsorships. She is resourceful in finding locations and  negotiating with caterers, decorators, printers, security and meeting  planners.

Melinda has arranged and hosted speakers of all types for national organizations. Events she has planned take place in tents, country clubs, conference centers, hotels, restaurants and parks. As chairman of Artistic Competitive Classes for the Philadelphia Flower Show, she is responsible for 270 exhibits staged by 185 exhibitors during a one week period. This is the world's largest indoor flower show and attracts 290,000 visitors each year.

Melinda has 25 years of computer experience beginning with her work as an account executive for a computerized typesetting firm. She was responsible for the Marquis account - - publishers of the Who's Who books. She has also worked for the Marketing Department of Chrysler Corporation as a project leader for one of four product information centers in shopping malls nationwide.

She currently serves on the boards of directors of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society and Advanced Living, Inc. and is a member of the American Society of Botanical Illustrators and the Philadelphia Society of Botanical Art. Her art has been exhibited at the Philadelphia Flower Show and local galleries.
